NAHEDO is an NGO formed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals comprising medical specialists in psychiatry, medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, pharmacy, nutrition, nursing, psychology, social work, VCT counselors, environmental scientist and other experts who have years of experience in prevention and care for HIV infected and affected. NAHEDO is registered by the NGO council Of Kenya, to operate in Nyanza, Eastern, Western and Nairobi Provinces

Training

In 2007 NAHEDO in conjunction with Walter Reed Foundation and CDC trained over 25 Health Care Workers and peer educators from the armed forces, on home based care for HIV infected and affected.

NAHEDO in conjunction with AED (CAP) and Walter Reed Foundation trained 35 social workers, community health workers and child development officers from different parts of Kenya, working with orphans and vulnerable children programs under the AED capable partners program, Kenya (CAP). (November 2008),

NAHEDO participated in training multidisciplinary staff of DOD (Department of Defense) on PEER EDUCATION FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE TRAINING 4/06/2012 -08/06/2012        

NAHEDO, in conjunction with Kenya Pediatrics Association, has and continues to participate in training of the following:

  • Over 300 health care workers from Western, Eastern, Central and Nairobi provinces on Stigma reduction courses in relation to HIV and related illnesses
Provider Initiated Counseling and Testing in HIV management

 

CAPACITY TO CONDUCT SUPERVISION
